CUSTOM PROJECTS

I am extremely passionate about my custom project work. The most important part of creating jewelry for me is making a piece that is important to someone and that they are able to connect with, and custom projects are an excellent way to do so. I have a wide range of jewelry skill sets, so even if you would like something that is very different from pieces that I carry on my website, I will likely be able to create it or help direct you to another artist who can. My process for custom pieces is fairly standard, but you can feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

Every custom project begins with a virtual or in person meeting and a detailed sketch. I will sketch out several variations of your project, and I will present them to you for feedback. If you would like something changed, I will make adjustments to the sketch and confirm before proceeding.

Once the design has been confirmed, I will begin the quoting process. The quote will vary depending on the materials used and the amount of time that I estimate it will take me to complete. There will be a 50% deposit due before moving on to the next step of the process- this is so I have the funds to acquire the necessary materials.

The next phase will depend on the specific design. I work primarily with CAD software, so for most pieces I will create an STL file, 3D print it in wax, and cast the piece. I will send you an image of the STL file before casting so that you can see what it looks like and request any alterations before the design is finalized and cast. There are certain projects where a CAD rendering is not necessary, but for those pieces I am still able to send a digital rendering of what the piece will likely look like upon completion.

The pricing of custom projects will be higher than the stock projects on my website. This is because when I typically make batches of pieces and divide them amongst retail establishments, markets, and my website. Making a single, custom, one of a kind piece takes much more attention and time. I do not offer sales or discounts for any custom pieces.

Mary Lou Angel Pendant

This pendant was a part of a series of custom pieces that I made for my family in honor of my grandmother's passing. My grandmother served in the Navy, and the brass face of this piece is a cut bullet casing from the 21 gun salute at her funeral. The stone in the center is an amethyst, her birthstone. She always loved angels. Her house was full of angel statues and art, so I added the silver angel wings to the bullet casing. This project was extremely meaningful, and I would love to do more military memorial pieces like this in the future.
