Details

The Savannah Bird Girl is considered one of the most iconic symbols of the city of Savannah. The original statue was sculpted in bronze by Chicago artist Sylvia Shaw Judson and was intended to hold birdseed. In 1940, a local family purchased a cast of Sylvia Shaw Judson's statue and placed it in a plot at Bonaventure Cemetery. The symbol was popularized by the book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" by Jack Leigh, when the author put an image of the replica statue in Bonaventure on the cover of his book.

This necklace based on the famous Savannah statue in Bonaventure cemetery. This is smaller then the Savannah Bird Girl Necklace (Large), standing at 23mm tall and weighing 7 grams. This is a great option for people who want the iconic Savannah Bird Girl Necklace but prefer smaller pieces. It is adhered to an 18 inch figaro chain and both the chain and pendant are solid sterling silver.
